Allergic Contact Dermatitis

Allergic contact dermatitis occurs when a person develops an immune reaction to a substance that touches the skin. The substance the person is reacting to is called an allergen.  This can be suspected by the patient's history as well as the pattern and appearance of the rash. All of our providers have extensive training in the use of patch testing for detecting the various allergens which can cause allergic contact dermatitis.
