Allergic Contact Dermatitis

Allergic contact dermatitis is one form of dermatitis.  Typically, a patient develops an immune reaction to something that they are in contact with.  The substance the person is reacting to is called an allergen.  This can be suspected by the patient's history as well as the characteristic rash. All of our providers have extensive training in the use of patch testing for detecting the various allergens which can cause contact dermatitis.  Dr. Crotty has a special interest in contact dermatitis and is a member of the American Contact Dermatitis Society.
