Genital Warts

Genital warts, technically known as condyloma accuminata, are sexually transmitted warts that commonly occur in the genital region. The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the cause of this infection. Genital warts can be persistent and treatment may be prolonged. Topical treatment includes imiquimod (Aldara) and podophyllin. Resistant warts can be treated with cryotherapy(freezing), laser, scraping (curettage), or surgical excision.
