Vasculitis

There are various types of vasculitis, which causes inflammation of the blood vessels in the skin. Vasculitis presents in different ways on the skin depending on the size of the blood vessel as well as the triggering agent. Vasculitis may present as slightly raised purple bumps on the lower extremities or raised nodules and even ulcerations. This requires multiple tests looking for the source, which may be anything from infection to a drug.
